Elizabeth Midgette, Board of Directors

Elizabeth Midgette is a preschool teacher at the Church of the Brethren Learning Center in Frederick, MD.  She began her career in education as a middle school and high school English teacher, but currently enjoys the joy, challenge, and humor of working with early learners.  In her classroom, she loves finding ways to incorporate observations of and experiences in the environment into her daily lesson plans.

Elizabeth graduated from St. Olaf College in Minnesota with a B.A. in English and then from the University of Iowa in Iowa City with her Master of Arts in Teaching.  Throughout her life, she has always had a passion for learning and for the environment.  As an adult, she has become more familiar with the importance of native plants, local agriculture, and nutrition.  She loves finding ways to eat healthy and eat locally grown food.  Being a part of Farm to School, even in a small capacity, has felt like a great way to blend her interests and support a cause in which she believes.
